Sermon for Rev Ron Jones

Some years ago Reverend Ron Jones, founder of the Corinthian Church and Healing Association asked me to help re-establish his HQ and also to be the Principle Minister at his headquarter’s church at Hailsham. I agreedbut it wasn’t long after it became well attended again that our usual breakdown in relationship occurred…

Reverend Jones has recently passed away and is sadly missed by his family, friends and members of his countrywide spiritual organisation. He was my friend and antagonist right from the early days when he broke away from the Spiritualists’ National Union of which I was a member and editor of their New Communicator, to the United Spiritualists that I joined and by whom I was ordained who broke away from the Corinthians, to my establishing the New Spiritualists’ Society of which I am the head!

The first sermon given by Rev Lyn Guest de Swarte during the opening Sunday Service April 25th 2010 at the previously shut Primrose Hall, Hailsham, East Sussex, England was given to the reconvened large congregation as follows:

“This first service here in the Primrose Hall Corinthian Church is taking place on what Peter and the other disciples and followers of Jesus at that time would have known as Yom Rishon – the first day of the week.

It still is in their country, which is Israel, and of course it was the day that Peter made that first public address and gave that very public healing. As we learned in the previous Bible reading, an angel acting for Holy Spirit opened the locks and enabled Peter to walk out of the prison –signs and wonders indeed.

But it hasn’t finished. It didn’t finish with him and the other disciples of Jesus as so many present day Christians would have us believe. We also can accept and practice spiritual gifts and demonstrate that it’s still possible to perceive Divine intervention in our earthly affairs.

When certain people had done their worst, which resulted in the curtailment of church activity here at the very hub of the Corinthian Church and Healing Association’s Headquarters, the outlook may have seemed very bleak.

But if we look past the suffering and death, we see in His forgiveness and resurrection, new life, new joy – a new Spiritual Way – that will be an intrinsic part of the fabric of this new old church as we too celebrate this third Sunday of Easter and Day One of a new era.

As Jesus said, on that first day of the week when he showed himself in Spirit after he’d passed from the earth to Peter and John and the others assembled:” “Shalom Aleichem”… “Peace be with you”.

God bless and keep you Ron and make His face to shine upon you in those realms of light, and give you peace.
