Spiritualist Healing and Mediumship

Whether you like it or not, if you are a spiritual healer you must also be a medium to a lesser or greater degree. So what defines that mediumistic level?

All who call themselves spiritual healers would agree that they are the human exchange mechanism, or medium, for extraneous healing energy that is channelled for the relief of others’ suffering. Then there are those who offer or practice healing within the Spiritualist framework whereby concentrated particular intelligent energies are transmitted from an otherwise unseen and unfelt source of good in the heavenly realm of Spirit.

This being specifically directed towards those living on the baser physically sentient plane of being  the earth, and anyone acting as such an interface must by definition be a medium simples as Aleksandr the host of compare the meerkat.com would pronounce. And of course, he, a Russian but English speaking animated cartoon (don’t mention that if you meet him) is representative of his real meerkat companions, and the rest of the animal kingdom, who also may receive and benefit from that spiritual healing mediumship.

The key to all good spiritual healing is, as we all know, attunement to that finer frequency that exists beyond our normal consciousness. It’s a skill that brings its own joy in the learning and is healing in the process for the student. Attuning ourselves transcends that slice of our precious earthly time that we spend in the necessary regular meditative state. As we who practice this spiritual methodology have discovered, it slows down our physical brain waves increasing the vibration on which our minds operate, and it’s now an experience that has been scientifically proved to palpably benefit our own health while preparing to bring healing to others.

Becoming adept at attuning oneself to the materially invisible matrix that holds the universe together can lead to an illusion of self importance. The reality is rather different as any recourse to studying the earthly lives and teachings of now ascended spiritual exemplars such as Jesus, all speak humbly of themselves as servants or slaves of humanity and its Creator. The very word medium has taken on a meaning that has led to a compartmentalisation and misunderstanding by spiritual healer practitioners and the general public alike.

Of course you should not be on one of the lower planes of consciousness if you are administering spiritual healing but what goes up has to come down as Isaac Newton might have said. As the spiritual healer begins to regain their normal conscious state, they have to pass through the plane of other worldly existence on which lives Auntie Flo and countless other dear departed loved ones of their patient. Because as a result of their training processes spiritual healers have developed as mediums, they may well be able to see, hear, and or sense those dear departeds.

The temptation is to remain a while on that level, to receive a message and then to pass it on to the recipient of spiritual healing. That kind of incidental communication should not be proffered at that time. From the practitioner’s point of view, it can skew a truly spiritual experience between themselves and their patient into a much more materially orientated one. Such messages are often by the nature of things bound up with the minutiae of our daily lives, hardly spiritually elevating even if the recipient does need to get a leaking roof fixed or talk to a relative (down here) with whom they’ve had a row… Now that’s what most consider a medium or mediumship to be, and only that; messages from loved ones in the heavenly realms to prove that there is life after death. The fact that this should enhance and spiritualise and affect for good the way we live our life on earth usually doesn’t seem to manifest thereafter.

On the other hand, spiritual healing through what has to be truly spiritual mediumship invariably changes the lives of recipients as they are touched by the Spirit.

Spiritual healers are making the world a better place and they should claim that theirs is the highest form of mediumship for by their actions they are giving substance to the ancient invocation, on earth as it is in heaven.
